SLM Technology: Peak Irradiance and Dose

In the world of UV curing, peak irradiance and dose are important parameters to consider. When comparing LED systems, the location for the peak irradiance specification should be noted. If specified at the LED surface, the reported peak irradiance can be 8-10 times higher than the peak irradiance if measured at the UV emitting window. For most UV curing applications, peak irradiance is only one important parameter to consider. The total power, or “dose” is another very important consideration.
