Keith Nagle Joins Phoseon Technology

Nagle makes the move from Nilpeter to Phoseon.

Keith Nagle has emerged as a popular face at many of the prominent events in the labels and packaging industry. From TLMI to Labelexpo, he has functioned in many roles–from product expert to presenter. A familiar face donning the white suit at the Nilpeter booth, Nagle has made the move to Phoseon Technology.

Nagle began his career with Flint Group, before making stops at Steinhauser, Actega, and Nilpeter. He served as the Northeast senior sales and digital product manager with Nilpeter. In his new role at Phoseon, Nagle will be the global director of business development.

Phoseon, based in Hillsboro, OR, provides a broad portfolio of LED curing solutions. Phoseon is an ISO 9001 certified company that boasts more than 300 patents.

“LED curing is one of the technologies where the benefits are improving converters’ bottom line, and Phoseon Technology is the leader in offerings, warranty, service and competencies.”

“The continued opportunities to work within and educate our great industry really excites me,” said Nagle. “It is well documented that I love print and evangelize it on many platforms. Phoseon understands my position, experience and passion.”

Leaving the Nilpeter team, where Nagle had become an industry mainstay, was a difficult decision, though. “My family, trusted industry confidants and my heart (prompted the move to Phoseon),” Nagle said. “I’ve known about Phoseon and worked on projects with them over the years. As the leader in their technology space, it was very appealing to join their team and help flip the industry to LED.

“It was very difficult leaving Nilpeter, which is highly regarded and manufactures exceptional presses. I’ve grown tremendously from my relationships and experiences during my time at Nilpeter. Their culture is deep-rooted and fostered by ownership.”

At Phoseon, Nagle will be tasked with working with the company’s Ecosystem Partners around the world, as well as growing the LED curing platform. Like other facets of the industry, curing technologies continue to evolve at a high rate.

“We are at an exciting time in our industry where technology is making serious impacts on converters’ throughput, quality and power consumption,” he said. “LED curing is one of the technologies where the benefits are improving converters’ bottom line, and Phoseon Technology is the leader in offerings, warranty, service and competencies.”

Phoseon was established in 2002 and has become a strong player in the curing space. According to Nagle, Phoseon has a bright future, which helped facilitate the move.

“Most important to converters is that there is a future,” said Nagle. “All too often when new technology emerges, there are companies that get into that market purely with the goal of growing to sell. When researching technology that will have a long-term impact on your business, make sure the company will be around three, five or even 10 years from now to support you as a customer. Phoseon Technology will continue to invest in R&D to push the envelope in LED offerings with the goal of stabilizing a very unstable, inefficient and money consuming curing process.”

Nagle will continue to be a fixture at many popular industry events. It was recently announced that he will chair the FTA Fall Conference, which takes place Oct. 28-30 in Charlotte, NC. Session topics will focus on the journey of a flexographically printed piece, from beginning to end. A separate tabletop exhibit will showcase more than 65 companies and be open intermittently between sessions, as well as in the evenings, throughout the duration of the conference.

Fall Conference 2019 will span the gamut of industry attendees, from CEOs to managers to operators. The event offers close proximity to Clemson University and Central Piedmont Community College, which will open up significant opportunities for networking.

“It’s exciting to work with a company that shares the same industry love and excitement as you,” said Nagle. “With contributions in all industry associations, we continue to be aligned with the converters’ wants and needs. 2019 is shaping up as an eventful year as I participate in the FTA Forum, TLMI printTHINK and serve as the primary Chair for the FTA Fall Conference. These are exciting times.”
